About The Position

This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations. HII designs, develops, integrates and manages the sensors, systems and other assets necessary to support integrated ISR operations and accelerated decision-making. Job Description This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD Skillbridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. DoD Skillbridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies Internship programs are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs, Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII. Objective The SkillBridge intern will train as a STINGRAI Liaison Officer (LNO) embedded within JIATF South operations. Reporting to the STINGRAI Program Manager, the intern will learn aviation/ISR coordination practices, joint interagency mission workflows, and communication procedures that support detection, monitoring, and intelligence fusion missions. Primary goals include: Understanding ISR aircraft capabilities and mission planning requirements Learning how LNOs act as communication conduits between subcontractor aviation units and government leadership Developing skills in operational briefings, mission updates, and documentation Strengthening knowledge of interagency coordination, intelligence processes, and SOUTHCOM mission dynamics. Overall Goals & End State (3 month target) At the end of three months, Explain core functions of an LNO within JIATF South Demonstrate a working understanding of IMINT/SIGINT capabilities and ISR TTPs Prepare operational briefings, mission summaries, and coordination reports Maintain interagency contact lists and facilitate cross‑organizational communication Track and organize sortie planning requirements and ISR mission scheduling Provide informed recommendations during operational reviews Mission Technologies will benefit from the military background of the SkillBridge intern and consider the SkillBridge internship an overall positive experience Assumptions/Restrictions SkillBridge interns may not represent HII to DoD or Government entities; all participation is strictly observational and training‑focused SkillBridge Intern will possess at minimum an Active TS/SCI Security Clearance SkillBridge Intern will be available during core hours for critical meetings and training

Requirements

  • Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service.
  • Applications accepted from transitioning military personnell within final 12 months of active-duty service.
  • 3 yrs Aviation + ISR experience
  • Joint Airborne ISR TTPs; IMINT/SIGINT capabilities + TTPs
  • Mission schedule planning; FalconView + MS Office proficiency
  • ISR/Aviation LNO experience with aircrew, commands, interagency partners
  • Understanding of SPINS, ACOs, ATOs; intel background (imagery, collection mgmt, all-source)
  • CAOC/ATO‑cycle support experience
  • COMSEC/keymat handling
  • TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Available during core hours for critical meetings and training.
