About The Position

The Stills Stylist will report directly to the Studio Manager and play a critical role in delivering high-quality product imagery for Madewell. This position requires exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated experience styling soft goods, footwear, accessories, and jewelry within a high-volume photography studio environment.

Responsibilities

  • Product Styling & Execution
  • Style soft goods, shoes, accessories, and jewelry to create visually dynamic, brand-aligned compositions.
  • Produce an average of 150 high-quality product images per week across editorial stills and eCommerce photography.
  • Support asset creation for the website, email, social channels, and special projects.
  • Organize and prioritize shoots based on launch calendar and business needs.
  • Prepare and press all samples for stills photography using steamers and irons, including soft goods, shoes, handbags, jewelry, small goods, and accessories when an assistant is not available.
  • Creative Collaboration & Brand Alignment
  • Partner closely with Photographers, Art Directors, Producers, and the Retouching Team to ensure all visual assets meet Madewell’s creative and brand standards.
  • Maintain fluency in current Women’s and Men’s styling guidelines and help manage and evolve the product styling guide.
  • Problem-solve on set and provide creative solutions to meet shoot objectives and deadlines.
  • Workflow & Operational Excellence
  • Contribute to workflow optimization within a fast-paced studio environment.
  • Navigate asset management platforms including Airtable, ADAM, Figma, and internal servers with ease.
  • Partner with the Studio Manager to align weekly shoot goals and resource needs.
  • Track and support resolution of monthly missing lists from Merchandising and Site teams to ensure timely product launches.
  • Collaborate with the Sample Library to source samples for rush requests and resolve missing items from edit-stills documentation.
  • Cross-Functional Support & Communication
  • Provide support to Studio Manager, Art Directors, Designers, Photographers, Stylists, Merchandising, and Operations teams as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
