About The Position
Skillforce is currently hiring experienced Structural Stick Welders for a shop job in Shelbyville, KY. The ideal candidate will have experience reading blueprints and performing welds using the Stick welding process. This is for a project in Jeffersonville, IN with a duration of 4 weeks, offering 40 hours per week at a rate of $32/hour based on experience. The role involves reading blueprints, fitting and assembling structural steel, performing Stick welding, verifying measurements, and inspecting completed work.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Structural Welder in the field
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to work overtime and maintain reliable attendance
- Must pass all pre-employment screenings, including drug testing and background check
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication plans
- Fit and assemble structural steel components according to specifications
- Perform Stick welding to secure assemblies
- Verify measurements, alignments, and tolerances for accuracy
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met
