About The Position

Straz Center for the Performing Arts is seeking a Stewardship Coordinator to join our Development Team. This position provides comprehensive stewardship services to strengthen donor engagement, recognition, retention, and long-term relationships with Straz Center donors and advance the Development department's fundraising goals and strategies. The position handles the preparation and distribution of donor gift acknowledgements and benefits, while working collaboratively with the Development team to evaluate donor data, identify issues, and recommend improvements to processes supporting the accurate and effective administration of donor records and gifts. The coordinator also leads donor recognition efforts and helps develop compelling communications that thank and engage donors. The position works collaboratively with the Development and Marketing teams to ensure consistent, well-executed donor stewardship efforts. This role requires the ability to analyze information, exercise sound judgment, manage multiple projects independently, think critically and creatively, and build organized systems. Located in downtown Tampa, the 335,000 square-foot Straz Center, one of the largest performing arts complexes in the country, offers a team-based work environment that shows our dedication to the community every day.

Requirements

  • Prior experience with CRM or Database System required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
  • Excellent organization and information management skills, including strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, verbal and written.
  • Must complete a Level 2 background screening through FLClearinghouse.

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with tools like Kindsight preferred.
  • Fundamental understanding of fundraising concepts preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Associate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience, will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the preparation and distribution of acknowledgement letters for new and renewing gifts.
  • Coordinates annual donor benefit packages; helps ensure the disbursement of other benefit collateral to appropriate endowment and capital campaign donors, founders, board members, and public officials.
  • Records and evaluates historical acknowledgements and benefits in CRM and Development files; issues replacement or supplemental letters/benefit materials.
  • Leads assigned department-wide donor stewardship initiatives.
  • Maintains accurate donor recognition lists.
  • Works collaboratively with the Development team in the planning and execution of donor stewardship events and activities; Participates in Bravo Club staff shifts as needed.
  • Evaluates donor stewardship needs and recommends and implements improvements to stewardship processes, benefits, and engagement initiatives to enhance the donor experience and support Development objectives.
  • Works collaboratively with the Development Systems team for gift entry into CRM as needed.
  • Prepares pledge reminder letters and invoices for payments.
  • Reviews and maintains donor data within the CRM, making necessary updates to ensure accurate and relevant donor records.
  • Contributes to overall team efforts - sharing in the decision-making process, implementing and promoting decisions in a spirit of cooperation.
  • Assists in Development departmental functions and special events and performs other duties when necessary to ensure the overall smooth operation of the department.
