About The Position

The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing stewarding staff and ensuring the cleanliness and proper functioning of kitchen equipment and areas. This role involves a variety of tasks related to dishwashing, equipment sanitation, waste removal, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The supervisor must be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours).
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
  • Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years in a high volume business cleaning kitchen equipment as a Supervisor.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and hours to include holidays and weekends.
  • Good knowledge of cleaning procedures.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer applications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, team building and problem solving skills are required.
  • Must be 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisor experience is preferred.
  • Some knowledge of proper chemical usage preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises stewarding staff
  • Prepares tableware for washing, including scraping plates, pre-soaking silver, and placing items in proper racks.
  • Sets up dishwashing machine, ensuring correct temperatures, detergent levels, and proper rack usage.
  • Washes dishes and stores china in appropriate kitchen areas.
  • Thoroughly cleans dishwashing equipment and working areas.
  • Collects, washes, and restacks cleaned pots on shelves.
  • Responsible for the removal of all garbage and refuse.
  • Replaces and removes all fryer oil.
  • Mops and sweeps floors.
  • Washes walls and ceiling tiles.
  • Sanitizes all cooking equipment.
  • Adheres to all regulatory, company, and department policies and procedures.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.
