About The Position

Proof of the Pudding is an award-winning catering company throughout the Southeast with a commitment to creating quality culinary concepts from scratch. This standard was upheld through the expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services by providing elevated concessions and premium offerings to collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, International Boat Shows, Professional Sports Teams, & more. We are seeking a Stewards that will be responsible for a wide range of tasks to help ensure efficient overall operations of the back of house at University of Georgia. Work assignments and tasks can change daily but will typically include cleaning and sanitizing dishes, equipment, and the kitchen.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
1+ year of experience working in a kitchen or as a steward is preferred, experience in customer service role is preferred.
Planning and multi-tasking
Must be a phenomenal team-player and self-motivated with a high energy level.
Flexibility to work events, weekends, nights, and holidays.
Ability to follow directions and work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines.
Non-slip shoes are required.
Prolonged periods of moving through kitchen, coolers, and storage spaces.
Traveling throughout the event space in different terrains.
Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items.
Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to lifting up-to 40 pounds at times.
Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.
Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.
Demonstrate comprehension of the job, including policies, practices, and relationships.
Possess the expertise and skill levels required of the job and perform with quality.
Dependable, reliable and follows through on projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes, and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed.
Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized.
Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift.
Properly washes, stacks, and stores China, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical dilutions set by EcoLab.
Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries.
Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.
Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
Assist with maintaining and organizing China and warehouse.
Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.
