About our property: Welcome to the World of Whirlpool, a unique and innovative closed-market facility nestled in the heart of Chicago. Operating as a dedicated Training and Conference Center, our purpose revolves around supporting the Sales Enablement team for Whirlpool Corporation. Situated within our building, the 8th floor is transformed into a state-of-the-art showroom, featuring 11 fully functional kitchens. This remarkable space serves as a hands-on training ground for trade partners, including sales representatives from renowned companies such as Home Depot. In 2010, Whirlpool made a strategic decision to create its own showroom floor, eliminating the need to transport appliances to trade shows. At Pyramid Global Hospitality, our role is pivotal in supporting this endeavor. We provide comprehensive hospitality services, including housekeeping, food and beverage offerings, meticulous event setups, and overall operational support. Requirements

  • Previous restaurant, catering, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
  • Meet City and State Food Sanitation requirements (as applicable)
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 75 lbs. (kitchen equipment, food, non-food items)
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods of time
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions in English
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Flexible, open-minded, and accommodating

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, including dish room, prep areas, storage, and service spaces
  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment; wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, cookware, and tools
  • Keep floors, drains, walls, work surfaces, and equipment clean and sanitized throughout each shift
  • Remove trash, recycling, and compost in accordance with company and local guidelines
  • Properly store chemicals, tools, and cleaning supplies in designated areas
  • Assist with receiving deliveries; organize, label, and store items appropriately and report any quality concerns
  • Support cooks and chefs with kitchen set-up, breakdown, restocking, and basic food prep tasks
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards to maintain an inspection-ready kitchen
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen leadership and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment
  • Assist other departments as needed to support overall facility operations
  • Perform additional duties, written or verbal, as assigned by Management
  • Adhere to kitchen policies as set forth in the Employee Handbook and report any observed violations to Human Resources
  • Maintain the highest level of employee and guest relations
