About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Steward, contributes to the efficient daily operation of Food and Beverage activities by assuring that the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained for guests and associates, in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel. Maintains professionalism in all interactions with internal and external customers. Requirements

  • Knowledge of goals, objectives, functions, policies, and procedures of Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, tribal, and gaming laws, regulations, requirements, and principles.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations and food service principles.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation policies, practices, and standards.
  • Knowledge of dishwasher operation and maintenance and cleaning chemicals.
  • Knowledge of basic inventory management.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards.
  • Skill in the safe use of cleaning equipment, materials, and substances.
  • Skill in handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Skill in providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures sanitized dishware, silverware, pots, and pans are available.
  • Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes by hand or places in dishwasher.
  • Washes pots, pans, and trays.
  • Restocks dishes and glassware.
  • Ensures cleanliness of dishwashing and storage areas.
  • Sanitizes worktables, refrigerators, and racks.
  • Sweeps and mops floors.
  • Maintains kitchen equipment.
  • Delivers dirty linens to laundry.
  • Polishes silver.
  • Removes garbage from kitchen to proper storage area.
  • Steams, cleans, and hoses out garbage cans.
  • Assists with receiving and storing food shipments.
  • Maintains inventory of cleaning chemicals, tableware, flatware, glassware, and equipment.
  • Reports any equipment malfunction.
  • Assists with washing and peeling vegetables as directed.
  • Ensures compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Provides excellent customer service for all internal and external customers.
  • Attends and participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
