About The Position

This role is responsible for washing dishes and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. The growth path for this position can lead to roles such as Cook or Kitchen Operations Supervisor - Head of Kitchen Operations or Sous Chef. The primary focus is on washing dishes, operating dishwashing equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This includes storing supplies, cleaning floors and trash bins, and assisting with food preparation during busy periods. The role also emphasizes guest satisfaction and safe work practices.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a kitchen helper or equivalent training is required.
  • Practice safe work habits, use protective equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans.
  • Operate dishwashing and other kitchen cleaning equipment.
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
  • Maintain work areas, equipment, or utensils in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Store supplies, such as food or utensils, in service stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
  • Sweep and wash floors and clean trash bins.
  • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated collection areas.
  • Perform food preparation duties during staff shortages or periods of high activity.
  • Consider guest satisfaction scores and work to increase overall and departmental guest satisfaction.
  • Practice safe work habits, use protective equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by management.
