A member of the ENT staff who works with the clinical team by processing instruments and equipment for use in the exam room and maintaining stock control of certain supplies. This role is responsible for assisting providers in delivering quality patient care by providing patient, clerical and administrative support to department staff. Key duties include processing supplies through cleaning, packaging, sterilizing, and storing procedures, washing and sterilizing instruments and scopes after each use, and operating autoclaves and scope processing supplies. The position also involves patient interaction such as greeting and preparing patients for exams, obtaining and recording patient history and vitals, and assisting providers according to Washington State regulations. The role requires adherence to HIPAA privacy and security standards, organizational patient safety standards, and providing patient care specific to the age of the patient population. It also includes cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining equipment per manufacturer's recommendations, monitoring and recording daily and weekly sterility tests, and maintaining a clean and stocked exam room environment.
