About The Position

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician or Sterile Processing Technician Trainee to join our Central Services team in La Crosse, WI. This role plays a critical part in patient safety and infection prevention. Whether you are an experienced technician or looking to start a healthcare career through our paid training program, this opportunity offers hands-on experience in a vital field. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a shift of Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, including holiday rotation. Emplify Health is a not-for-profit, patient-centered healthcare network formed by the partnership of Bellin Health and Gundersen Health System, serving communities across Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalency
Completion of an approved surgical tech or sterile processing tech program OR 1 or more years of sterile processing experience (for Sterile Processing Tech)
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a sterile processing cohort and/or sterile processing program within 6 months of hire (for Sterile Processing Tech Trainee)
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Interest in a hands-on healthcare career

Nice To Haves

Sterile Processing experience preferred

Responsibilities

Decontaminate and clean medical instruments
Perform sterilization processes
Assemble and package surgical instruments
Manage storage and distribution of supplies and equipment
Gain exposure to infection prevention protocols, quality and safety standards, and the full sterile processing lifecycle.
