About The Position
The Sterile Processing Technician works at St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center, part of Catholic Health. The role collects, decontaminates, inspects, lubricates, and assembles equipment and instruments while following standard precautions and infection-control practices. The position requires knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and sterile supplies, as well as an understanding of electrical and mechanical safety principles applicable to Central Sterile.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) certification, or the stated qualifying central service technician employment history and at least five years of sterile-processing experience.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and sterile supplies.
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical safety principles as they pertain to Central Sterile.
- Proficient Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
- Must obtain CRCST certification within one year of the hiring date.
