About The Position

Decontaminates, cleans, sterilizes and distributes supplies from the surgery department, and throughout hospital. Reprocesses multiple use items from the surgical department and throughout the hospital. Including but not limited to decontamination, inspection, testing, assembly, packaging and sterilization. Retrieves, reprocesses, and distributes multiple use items from all patient care areas. Accurately and consistently documents sterilizer loads, parameters, biological tests, and other necessary items. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Maintains accurate level of supplies and equipment at all times. Maintains knowledge of current sterilization standards. Take immediate action when failures are recognized.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of sterile processing training program within 6 months of hire or transfer
• Interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with other team members, patients and families.
• Basic computer skills to include word processing, databases, EMR, and e-mail.
