About The Position

Insight Surgical Hospital is a small, friendly and minimally invasive surgical center and clinic with patient services second to none! We are proud of our fast-paced, patient-focused, team-oriented environment with professionals in neurology, orthopedics, pain management, chiropractic, gastroenterology, podiatry specialties and more. Every member of our team is crucial to the patient experience and our success! Our Hospital and Clinic do not treat general illnesses, including COVID-19, and has required health safety measures in place for everyone prior to entering the facility, including temperature and symptom checks, required PPE and other health hygiene measures. Job Summary: Our organized, meticulous and safety-focused Sterile Processing Technician for our Surgical team to help demonstrate patient care second to none! The Sterile Processing Technician focuses on the proper care and maintenance for all surgical instrumentation, decontamination processes, equipment usage and sterilization processes. The Sterile Processing Technician role is an integral part of the surgical team with an emphasis on infection control. Preferred candidates are able to excel under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact, stamina and endurance while focusing on minute details.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts to meet department needs

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Previous experience within field or related work environment is preferred
  • Certification would be preferred

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the strict use of standard precautions and the use of personal protective equipment
  • Demonstrates knowledge of equipment, instruments, procedures and supplies used in the operating room
  • Serves as a resource person for sterilization, decontamination, case preparation and surgical instrumentation
  • Demonstrates knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic technique
  • Ability to succeed in situations under pressure while maintaining patience, tact and endurance
  • Other duties as assigned
