About The Position

The Sterile Processing Technician performs duties in Central Supply, including cleaning, wrapping, and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment using an autoclave or chemical sterilization method. The role also involves preparing trays, ordering and stocking supplies, maintaining accurate sterilization records, and performing simple equipment maintenance. The technician must comply with Infection Control, Standard Precautions, and OSHA standards for healthcare professionals, and be able to organize and complete work in a timely manner.

Requirements

High school graduate.
May be required to work any day of the week, including holidays and weekends.
Physical requirements include long periods of standing, lifting, stooping, bending, and pushing.

Responsibilities

Clean, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment using an autoclave or chemical sterilization method.
Prepare trays.
Order and stock supplies.
Document and maintain accurate sterilization records.
Perform simple maintenance on equipment.
Comply with Infection Control, Standard Precautions, and OSHA standards for healthcare professionals.
Organize and complete work in a timely manner.
