Sterile Processing Technician
About The Position
This role is responsible for cleaning and decontaminating surgical instruments and equipment according to manufacturer Instructions for Use and established safety protocols to support a sterile healthcare environment. The technician will inspect, organize, and assemble instrument trays and supplies to ensure accuracy and readiness for surgical procedures. They will operate sterilization equipment and follow established safety standards to maintain infection prevention and quality assurance compliance. Additionally, the role involves maintaining inventory and supply levels for surgical case carts to support efficient daily operations within Surgical Services and collaborating with sterile processing and surgical teams to ensure instruments and equipment are available and functioning properly for patient care.
Requirements
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Certification through accredited program.
Nice To Haves
- Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association preferred.
- Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) preferred.
