As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll be an essential partner to surgeons, nurses, and procedural staff by ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned, inspected, assembled, and sterilized to the highest standards. We're looking for detail-oriented individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, value teamwork, and are committed to safety and quality. Department: Sterile Processing. Location: SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Madison. 700 S Brooks St, Madison, WI 53715. Schedule: 3pm-11:30pm (Monday-Friday) - 1 weekend per month and 1 holiday per year. Apply today. Requirements
- High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
- No experience required
Responsibilities
- Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to established protocols.
- Inspects instruments, equipment and containers to assure cleanliness and proper functioning.
- Corrects instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems.
- Maintains proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
