About The Position
As a Sterile Processing Technician for STERIS, you will work behind the scenes in a fast-paced healthcare environment, helping protect patient safety without direct patient contact. In the Sterile Processing Department, you will support surgical procedures by ensuring medical instruments are clean, sterile, organized, and available to the surgical team. This is an onsite position in New Orleans, Louisiana, working second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position is open until filled.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of sterile processing experience with CRCST or CBSPD certification, or two years of sterile processing experience.
- CRCST or CBSPD certification; certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire and maintained annually.
Responsibilities
- Reprocess surgical trays after surgery by decontaminating, cleaning, inspecting, sterilizing, and correctly assembling them in a timely manner for the next case.
- Operate sterile processing washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic equipment, and drying cabinets.
- Participate in regular onsite training.
