Sterile Processing Technician 2-Weekend Day-Vanderbilt Wilson County-$5000 Sign on Bonus
About The Position
The Central Processing Technician decontaminates, cleans, packages, and sterilizes instruments, equipment, and other supplies used in the hospital, and maintains appropriate documentation. The role supports patient safety by following infection control standards and established practices and policies. It also requires intermediate capability in equipment maintenance, environmental sterility and safety, surgical equipment knowledge, and inventory control. The position is with Vanderbilt Health’s Central Sterile organization at Vanderbilt Wilson County. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is advertised. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of relevant work experience.
- Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician through the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association, or as a Certified Sterile Processing Technician through The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc.
Responsibilities
- Decontaminate and clean instruments for the operating room.
- Assemble instrument sets for procedures.
- Sterilize instruments.
- Follow practices and policies that ensure patient safety and comply with infection control standards.
- Maintain appropriate documentation.
- Maintain equipment, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Apply inventory control practices.
