Shriners Children's Chicago an opportunity for a full-time Sterile Processing Tech . This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking flexibility while contributing to a collaborative, patient-centered team environment. The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for providing reprocessed supplies and equipment required by all departments that render patient care. In th is position, you'll ensure that all instruments are sterile, which will help maintain a safe environment for our patients. Hours: This position is a full-time evening shift role. The evening shift typically covers late afternoon through nighttime hours. The pay range for this position is $21.24/hour - $31.88/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years working with surgical instruments
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
Nice To Haves
- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)
Responsibilities
- The Sterile Processing Tech shall be knowledgeable and implement the decontamination, preparing and sterilization of surgical supplies and equipment.
- Assembles case carts containing consumable supplies and instrumentation.
- Cleans/decontaminates surgical instruments.
- Identifies and assembles multiple types of surgical instruments and instrument sets.
- Inspects instruments, replaces or send for repairs.
- This is not an all inclusive list of this job's responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
