About The Position

The Sterile Processing Tech works across all areas of the department, including decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization, high-level disinfection, sterile storage, and OR liaison support. The role requires experience with drills, Da Vinci equipment, scopes, instruments across all service lines, trauma, loaners, peel packaging, and both Sterrad and steam sterilization processes. Candidates must have experience with high-level disinfection and the Censitrac tracking system.

This is a first-shift position, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with scheduled rotating weekends and occasional scheduled holidays. Three years of experience, previous travel experience, and CBSPD or CRCST certification are required.

Aya SPT Candidate Eligibility Restrictions: Previous permanent staff and return travelers are not eligible for return anywhere in the system. Return travelers are defined as clinicians who have taken an assignment at any location and are reapplying anywhere within the OSU umbrella. Travelers who reach the one-year maximum contract limit are not eligible for extensions or future assignments.

Requirements

• Three years of experience.
• Previous travel experience.
• CBSPD or CRCST certification required.
• Experience in all areas of the department, including decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization, high-level disinfection, sterile storage, and OR liaison work.
• Experience with the Censitrac tracking system.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate items, including drills, Da Vinci equipment, and scopes.
• Assemble instruments across all service lines, including trauma instruments, loaners, and peel packaging.
• Perform sterilization processes using Sterrad and steam.
• Perform high-level disinfection and scope-related work.
• Manage sterile storage.
• Serve as an OR liaison.
• Use the Censitrac tracking system.
