About The Position

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking experienced Sterile Processing Technicians to join its Surgical Services team. The Sterile Processing Tech decontaminates, processes, sterilizes, and distributes supplies for the operating room, inpatient floors, and ancillary departments. The role includes biological and chemical monitoring, selecting cases for operating room procedures, assembling operating room instrument trays, and operating sterilization and cleaning equipment. The position is full-time, with 8-hour shifts and a 40-hour workweek.

Requirements

Knowledge of surgical instruments and techniques.
Knowledge of sterilization techniques and monitoring.
Knowledge of decontamination techniques and monitoring.
High school diploma required.

Nice To Haves

Certification in an RCST Program is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Follow decontamination policies, procedures, and practices.
Follow steam and gas (ETO) sterilization policies, procedures, and practices.
Maintain a neat and clean environment.
Handle surgical instruments carefully and understand their appropriate use and care.
Apply knowledge of the care and use of fiber optic scopes.
Apply knowledge of the care and use of department equipment, including ultrasonic machines, ETO machines, steam sterilizers, gas sterilizers, and aerators.
Perform biological and chemical monitoring.
Pick cases for operating room procedures and assemble operating room instrument trays.
Perform other duties as assigned by the director.
