About The Position

As a Sterile Processing Tech, your exceptional sterilization and processing abilities provide staff with the equipment they need to perform safe and successful procedures. This is a full-time position with evening hours, requiring weekend rotations every 7-8 weeks.

Requirements

• Successfully passed a nationally accredited central service exam and holds and maintains one of the following credentials: Certified Registered Central Service Technician credential or Certified Sterile Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician credential.
• Strong attention to detail with demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• A healthcare facility may employ or otherwise contract with a person who does not meet the requirements of the function of a Sterile Processing Technician if they are unable to employ or contract a sufficient number of qualified Sterile Processing Technicians.
• Must provide evidence of employment or contract services as a Central Service Technician in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring between 1/1/2011 – 1/1/2015.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for processing and supplying sterile goods and equipment to all areas within the hospital, including decontamination, cleaning, packing, sterilizing, storing and distribution.
• Ensure appropriate supplies are used in the process of sterilizing items; collect and clean soiled equipment, machines, carts and shelves.
• Transport needed supplies, medication and equipment throughout the hospital.
