About The Position

The Sterile Processing Tech processes incoming supplies and equipment, including cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization. The role prepares supply packs, supplies for surgery cases, linens, and instruments in Sterile Processing as directed. The technician must be conscientious about procedures, work under pressure, and interact professionally with all departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a sterile processing course or surgical technician program.
• If not certified when hired, obtain certification within the first year of employment.
• Be conscientious about procedures, capable of working under pressure, and able to interact professionally with all departments.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of previous experience in central sterilization operations.
• Certified Central Service Technician certification or Certified Surgical Technician certification.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming supplies and equipment.
• Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize supplies and equipment.
• Prepare packs of supplies.
• Prepare supplies for surgery cases, linens, and instruments in Sterile Processing as directed.
