About The Position

As a Sterile Processing Professional, you will help protect patient safety by ensuring surgical teams receive correct, fully functional, sterile instrumentation. You will perform decontamination, preparation and packaging, sterilization, and dispatch of instruments efficiently and accurately. You will maintain knowledge of standards and procedures for surgical instrumentation and uphold infection-control practices with attention to detail, strong organization, and professionalism.

Requirements

• High school graduation in General Studies and a minimum of 2 years of experience as a sterile processing technician, upon hire; or
• A High School GED in General Studies and a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sterile Processing Tech II, upon hire.
• One of the following certifications upon hire: Certified and Registered Central Service Technician; Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Supervisor; Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician; or Cert Sterile Processing Distribution Technician.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service.
• Perform duties safely to prevent injury to yourself, patients, visitors, and other hospital personnel.
• Help maintain supplies and sterile items for use throughout the hospital.
• Process code carts.
• Contribute to the efficient operation of the department.
• Perform cleaning and decontamination duties.
• Prepare, package, sterilize, and dispatch surgical instruments.
