About The Position

Salem Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech II to support surgical teams and patient safety by ensuring instruments and supplies are properly decontaminated, prepared, sterilized, and available for care. The position is based at Salem Hospital in Salem, Oregon, and is full-time at 40 hours per week. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Requirements

• Hold either a current Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification or a current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate and prepare items according to departmental standards and equipment guidelines.
• Prepare items for sterilization using the correct procedures, indicators, and labels.
• Operate and maintain sterilizers, ensuring proper function and reporting maintenance issues.
• Assemble and prepare case carts efficiently and independently.
• Handle and organize surgical trays, instruments, and drills for proper assembly.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, identifying and addressing safety hazards.
