About The Position

Sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates! This opportunity is for a Sterile Processing Team Lead at Arnett Hospital & ASC. It's a full-time role with one day opening and one evening opening. This position will have a direct impact on the organization's success and supports the vision of making Indiana one of the nation's healthiest states. The role involves cleaning, wrapping, sterilizing, storing, and distributing equipment, supplies, instruments, and endoscopes used in patient care. It also includes assisting clinical staff with specialized knowledge of surgical instrumentation and procedures, providing technical guidance, training the team, and acting as a resource or mentor. The Team Lead will also provide functional guidance and assist the Manager with scheduling, training, and inventory duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Requires one national certification (CRCST,CSPDT,CFER or CST) and a second national certification related to central service or sterile processing (Examples: CIS; CSIP; CFER; CST; CHMM; CHL).
  • Requires 24 CE credits annually that focus on information and advancement related to the CS field and be of a technical nature.
  • Must maintain current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist obtained from the NBSTSA if in a hybrid OR/SPD role.
  • May require Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires demonstration of expert knowledge and skills identified as necessary to function as a Tech III.
  • Requires knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Requires advanced preceptor skills and experience in mentoring and coaching.
  • Requires basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of Endo instrumentation function and maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, wrap, sterilize, store and distribute equipment, supplies, instruments and endoscopes used in patient care.
  • Assist area clinical staff by using specialized knowledge in surgical instrumentation and procedures to prepare for surgical cases.
  • Provide technical guidance to others involved in the assembly of instrumentation and preparation of case carts.
  • Train team on various skills and tasks.
  • Act as a resource or mentor for the team and other staff.
  • Provide functional guidance to the team and assists Manager with scheduling, training and inventory duties.
