About The Position

The Sterile Processing Supervisor supports the education of all colleagues, trainees, and new hire orientees. This role also covers for other supervisors when they are on PTO. The primary function involves communicating and collaborating with the Surgery department regarding Operating Room (OR) instrumentation, case cart needs, and proactively reviewing the daily schedule to coordinate instrumentation requirements. The position contributes to OR efficiency by understanding sterilization and disinfection principles and identifying process improvement initiatives. The supervisor oversees shift operations, resolves problems, facilitates scheduling and staffing, and manages daily adjustments based on department needs. They also coordinate daily assignments and facilitate the department's workflow and instrumentation turnover by managing cleaning, processing, and sterilization.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing department
  • Certification in Central Sterile Processing
