About The Position

The Sterile Processing Supervisor plans and directs the cleaning, sterilization, and processing of surgical instrument trays and the surgical case cart system for Surgical Services, multiple procedure suites, and outlying patient care areas. The Supervisor oversees all sterile processing staff and leads the team in performing tasks consistent with the scope of practice for an unlicensed practitioner. The role manages competing demands to support Surgical Services staff and the areas served, assist with decontamination of supplies and instruments, prepare packs, complete sterilization, and stock supplies. The Supervisor also oversees staff work to ensure the department consistently meets sterilization standards and remains compliant.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Two years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technician.
Knowledge of sterile technique, operating room procedures, and equipment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Supervisory experience in decontamination, sterilization, and processing of surgical trays, carts, and equipment in an acute care or ambulatory surgical setting, or related surgical operations.
Qualified to obtain IAHCSMM or CBSPD certification.
