About The Position

Madera Community Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Department Lead to oversee the daily operations of the Central Supply Department. This role is responsible for maintaining the workflow of case carts, instruments, basins, and ensuring the proper assembly, packaging, sterilization, sorting, inspection, maintenance, and handling of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies. The Lead will also maintain an up-to-date list of tray makeups and a catalog/locator for all items, and oversee the preparation and setup of case carts.

Requirements

• Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
• 3-5 years as a Sterile Processing Technician
• 1-2 years supervisory experience
• Basic knowledge of aseptic technique
• Basic knowledge of surgical instrumentation
• Basic knowledge of sterilization equipment

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily operation of the Central Supply Department.
• Maintain the workflow process of case carts, instruments, basins, etc.
• Oversee and ensure the proper assembly, packaging, sterilization, sorting, inspection, maintenance, and handling of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain a complete up-to-date list of tray makeup in Surgery.
• Maintain the catalog and locator for all trays, packs, equipment, and supplies.
• Oversee preparation and set-up of case carts.
