About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services, this role is responsible for the supervision and daily operation of the Central Supply Department. The Lead ensures the efficient workflow for case carts, instruments, basins, etc. This position oversees and guarantees the correct assembly, packaging, sterilization, sorting, inspection, maintenance, and handling of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies. The Lead also maintains an up-to-date list of tray makeup in Surgery, and the catalog and locator for all trays, packs, equipment, and supplies. Additionally, this role oversees the preparation and set-up of case carts.

Requirements

• Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
• 3-5 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician
• 1-2 years of supervisory experience
• Basic knowledge of aseptic technique
• Basic knowledge of surgical instrumentation
• Basic knowledge of sterilization equipment

Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure proper assembly, packaging, sterilization, sorting, inspection, maintenance, and handling of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.

• Maintain the catalog and locator for all trays, packs, equipment, and supplies.
• Oversee the preparation and set-up of case carts.
