About The Position

The Sterile Processing Coordinator performs instrument cleaning, processing, and sterilization in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and maintains appropriate logs to meet regulatory and sterilization standards. The role includes preparing instruments and supplies for sterilization, monitoring sterile inventory and autoclave operation, and reporting instrument loss or equipment issues.

Requirements

• Certification in sterile processing.
• Two years of experience as a sterile processing technician.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Physical stamina.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and assemble instrument trays for sterilization.
• Sort, wrap, package, and appropriately label instruments and supplies.
• Make substitutions for damaged or missing instruments.
• Sterilize supplies using an autoclave in accordance with manufacturer and facility standards.
• Check sterile items for expiration dates and rotate stock.
• Report lost instruments to a supervisor.
• Follow appropriate standards for cleaning and sterilizing contaminated items.
• Monitor autoclaves for proper temperature and working order, and report malfunctions to a supervisor and/or service and maintenance representatives.
