Sterile Processing Aide
About The Position
The Sterile Processing Aide is responsible for delivering case carts and endoscopes to specific locations within the hospital and performing inventory counts of operating room peel pouches. The role also assists with unloading washer/disinfectors and departmental cleaning practices, while working as part of an interdepartmental perioperative team through effective communication and collaboration. This position does not require patient care. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with no weekends or call required. The position is onsite at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, with 40 scheduled weekly hours.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Understand and follow all I C.A.R.E. Standards.
- Able to work independently.
- Work as a team member.
- Basic computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- 0–1 year of central sterile work experience preferred.
- 0–1 year of work experience with inventory control systems preferred.
Responsibilities
- Safely, effectively, and compliantly transport instrumentation and endoscopes throughout the hospital.
- Perform inventory counts of operating room peel pouches.
- Assist with unloading washer/disinfectors.
- Assist with departmental cleaning practices.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with interdepartmental teammates as part of the perioperative team.
