About The Position
The Central Processing Technician decontaminates, cleans, packages, and sterilizes instruments, equipment, and other supplies used in the hospital, and maintains appropriate documentation. The role supports patient safety by following infection control standards and established practices and policies. The position is PRN at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital, with variable shifts depending on volume.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of relevant work experience.
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc.
Responsibilities
- Decontaminate and clean instruments for the operating room.
- Assemble instrument sets for procedures.
- Sterilize instruments.
- Follow practices, policies, and infection control standards to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain appropriate documentation.
