About The Position

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a motivated individual to join their infusion center pharmacy team as a sterile compounding technician. In this role, you will be a vital part of a patient’s experience in the infusion center, compounding all IV medications administered. Requirements

Minimum of 18 years of age required.
Minimum of three months tenure in Nebraska Medicine inpatient pharmacy department or demonstrated experience in sterile compounding required.
High school education or equivalent required.
Registered as a pharmacy technician with the State of Nebraska Board of Pharmacy required.
Pharmacy Technician Certification within 12 months of licensed date required.
Internal Aseptic Technique training completed within two weeks of hire required.

Nice To Haves

Hazardous medication and/or total parenteral nutrition (TPN) compounding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform sterile compounding according to policy and regulations including USP 797 and USP 800.
Maintain competency in the use of all equipment and programs related to sterile compounding.
Participate in medication management for pharmacy compounding, including medication and supply ordering, receiving, and maintenance.
Troubleshoot equipment, hardware, and software issues relating to compounding.
Participate in completing and documenting all cleaning and monitoring activities identified for areas related to sterile compounding.
Practice critical and focused thinking and perform calculations as needed to validate activities.
Work within a team to triage and respond to all compounding needs in a timely manner, following supervisor shift pharmacists' oversight.
Maintain ongoing didactic and practical training as related to sterile compounding.
