About The Position

This role at our Chandler location is focused on the preparation of sterile compounded medications in compliance with USP <797> and, where applicable, USP <800> standards. You will work in our cleanroom alongside our pharmacists and fellow technicians to produce high-quality sterile preparations for our patients. This work requires diligence, focus, and an unwavering commitment to aseptic technique. You will be trusted with work that directly impacts patient safety, and we will give you the training, tools, and team support to do that work well.

Requirements

  • Full Time: 40 hours per week: Monday - Friday, 9am to 5:00 or 5:30 pm
  • Certified pharmacy technician in the state of Arizona
  • Familiarity with USP <797> and USP <800> standards
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Willing to undergo a background check and drug testing in advance of employment
  • Must be capable of donning the appropriate PPE as required per procedure and medication handled

Nice To Haves

  • Sterile compounding experience or completion of a sterile compounding training program strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Compound sterile preparations across a variety of dosage forms in compliance with USP <797> and USP <800> requirements.
  • Maintain proper garbing, aseptic technique, and cleanroom behavior at all times.
  • Complete accurate documentation, including compounding records, cleaning logs, environmental monitoring records, and batch records.
  • Participate in required competency assessments, including gloved fingertip testing and media fill testing.
  • Support cleaning and disinfection of the PEC, SEC, and ante area on the required schedule.
  • Use pharmacy management software to enter prescription information and provide accurate updates to patients.
  • Fill prescriptions and prepare for pick up or shipment when required.
  • Process medication orders through the point of sale system.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and providers in person and by phone when needed.
  • Participate in regular audits, inspections, and quality improvement activities.
  • Attend department meetings and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
