Sterile Compounding Pharmacist
About The Position
OurPharma is hiring a full-time Sterile Compounding Pharmacist to oversee and/or participate in all aspects of preparing and managing the life cycle of sterile compounded products at its 503B Outsourcing Facility. The pharmacist will work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel, and will complete a training program covering the policies and procedures related to the role. The position involves executing or supervising sterile-compounding production processes in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures. Work takes place in a sterile cleanroom environment and includes applying aseptic-compounding principles to final drug products, media fills, stability studies, and research and development batches. The pharmacist also monitors drug inventories, assists with orders for active pharmaceutical ingredients and related supplies, and performs ongoing inventory updates and controlled-substance audits. The role is based on a Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional weekend or holiday work potentially required. The listed starting salary is $125,000 or more, depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the company's training program and demonstrate understanding of policies and procedures related to the position.
- Execute and/or supervise processes associated with producing compounded sterile preparations in accordance with cGMPs and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Apply aseptic and sterile-compounding principles when overseeing or participating in the compounding of final drug products, media fills, stability studies, and R&D batches.
- Work in a sterile cleanroom environment and follow proper hand-washing, gloving, and gowning techniques.
- Monitor and maintain drug inventories and assist in preparing orders for active pharmaceutical ingredients and related supplies.
- Continuously update inventories and audit controlled substances.
- Collaborate professionally with intra- and inter-departmental staff.
