The Alternative High School STEM Teacher is responsible for utilizing research-based pedagogical strategies to teach and engage diverse groups of students in grades 9-12. This Teacher is critical to the success of our Alternative School program for overaged, under-credited High School Students. The Teacher must work collaboratively with the EHS Science and Math Department Heads, the Assistant Principal, and other Alternative School faculty throughout the year to continually improve our students' experience and performance. The Teacher must be flexible and willing to accommodate students' scheduling needs within the Alternative School schedule. Teachers should be well-versed in the Massachusetts High School Math and Science Standards, as well as Sheltered English Instruction (SEI) practices and Universal Design to ensure access to content for all students. Teachers must exercise culturally responsive practices to promote equity and respect for all students. Teachers are expected to teach five classes and lead one advisory period each day.
