About The Position
Club SciKidz RVA offers science and technology summer day camps for children ages 4-15 in the Richmond/Henrico and Midlothian areas. We are hiring Counselors for our Richmond/Henrico location. Our day camps run Monday-Friday, and staff are scheduled by the week. Staff hours are approximately 8am-4pm. Pay for Counselors is $520 per week.
Requirements
- Teachers
- College students who have completed at least their first year of college.
- High school Graduating Seniors who have passion for and experience working in basic science and/or technology fields.
- Enjoy working with children
- Have some experience working with and leading a group of children
- Want to help campers have a great summer as they learn science & technology
- Are reliable & hard working; have reliable transportation
- Can attend mandatory, paid training in first week of June. Exact date TBA
Nice To Haves
- STEM majors
- Education majors
- Having [some] experience with technology is a plus, but NOT a requirement
Responsibilities
- Supervising campers
- Implementing provided lessons (all lessons, materials & supplies are provided)
- Keeping kids engaged, while maintaining a safe environment
- Have fun with what you are doing
- Being on time every day for your required shifts (you are scheduled by the week, so you work a whole week (Monday-Friday) for the weeks you are scheduled
- Working with other staff to provide an excellent camp experience
