Togetherhood is building a marketplace that connects educators with schools and communities seeking enrichment. Its mission is to bring high-quality enrichment and education to every community. As a member of Togetherhood’s instructor network, you will be matched with opportunities to teach STEM, specifically science experiments, to K–12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across Washington, DC. Teaching terms may last from 6 to 18 weeks. Classes are weekly and in person. Instructors are paid per class, either at a flat rate or per student as determined by the partner school. This is contracted, supplemental 1099 work. A separate materials budget is available for classes that require one. Applicants should provide a resume highlighting relevant teaching experience and experience in their craft or subject area. Applicants without formal teaching experience may describe other relevant experience or training in the application questionnaire. Candidates whose resumes are a fit may be invited to a screening call on Google Meet. The selection process assesses teaching experience, subject expertise, punctuality, and reliability. The final step is onboarding to the platform. Instructors must complete and pass a background check and applicable state-specific clearances to work with children. Togetherhood may use AI tools to support parts of hiring, but final decisions are made by humans.
