After School STEM Instructor
About The Position
Mad Science is hiring an After School STEM Instructor to facilitate a one-hour after-school science enrichment program using a preset curriculum. Each session is a high-energy, hands-on blend of entertainment and education, meeting once a week for 8–10 weeks. The role involves teaching young children science and may include occasional daytime programming if the instructor is available. Mad Science provides training in the curriculum and all program materials. Classes follow the school calendar and are presented year-round. The position is part-time, with compensation of $50 per class conducted; the posting also describes compensation as $50 per hour.
Requirements
- Some experience working with groups of elementary-age children (ages 4–12) is preferred.
- Must be available at least two weekdays after 2 p.m.
- Must have reliable transportation that is not public transportation or a ride share.
- Must undergo fingerprinting for a criminal background check.
- Some college education.
- Fun and outgoing personality.
