About The Position

Play-Well is seeking smart, creative, dynamic instructors from all backgrounds to teach LEGO classes and camps. Instructors introduce students to a range of STEM concepts while helping them develop creativity and problem-solving skills. The role includes managing sessions, keeping children safe and engaged, communicating with parents and clients, and caring for assigned LEGO teaching kits. During the school year, the schedule is Monday through Friday afternoons, part-time and flexible, with occasional weekend hours. Summer work consists of Monday through Friday half-day and full-day camps, typically between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., plus setup and breakdown. Instructors are paid for all hours worked, including teaching, setup, round-trip drive time, and training. On any day they teach, they receive at least three hours of pay.

Requirements

Reliable transportation.
A secure location to store teaching materials.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and bend, stoop, and crawl with children during class instruction.
Must pass all background checks as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Represent Play-Well in a positive and professional manner.
Complete required training programs.
Understand the curriculum and concepts thoroughly and provide value to participants with diverse abilities and interests.
Manage each class session and ensure children are safe, engaged, and having fun.
Communicate with parents and clients knowledgeably, respectfully, and tactfully to address questions or concerns.
Follow Play-Well and facility safety procedures, including procedures for supervising and releasing children.
Care for, safeguard, and maintain assigned LEGO teaching kits.
Respond promptly to communications from management by phone, text, email, or mail.
Regularly communicate with the Area Manager about questions, concerns, and updates.
