About The Position

The STEM Department is seeking a dependable student worker to help ensure that STEM Animal Care Lab animals are cared for each day and that daily information is entered into Animal Care Software before leaving the lab. This role is also responsible for training new summer animal care volunteers and covering shifts when a volunteer is unavailable. Additionally, the assistant must ensure that countertops, habitat hoods, and floors in the lab are kept free of debris.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled as a student at Friends University
• Zoo Science Major
• Critical thinking skills
• Ability to care for all animals in a lab setting
• Reliable
• Punctual
• Able to work independently

Responsibilities

• Help ensure that STEM Animal Care Lab animals are cared for each day
• Ensure that daily information is entered into Animal Care Software before leaving the lab
