About The Position

The Steel Weld Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the welding operations, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in the production of steel components. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills. A background check and pre-employment drug screening are required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in welding.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in welding techniques and processes.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse setting that includes exposure to noise, all weather conditions, small levels of airborne particles and occasionally lift more than 50-75lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of welding technicians, ensuring adequate staffing levels and assigning tasks appropriately.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Motivate and inspire the team to achieve production goals and maintain high standards of quality.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures and standards.
  • Inspect welded components to ensure they meet specifications and are free from defects.
  • Identify and address any quality issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with production planning and scheduling departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of orders.
  • Monitor production progress and make adjustments as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Enforce safety regulations and procedures to create a safe work environment.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.
  • Provide safety training and education to employees.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of welding equipment.
  • Schedule and oversee equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Monitor equipment usage and identify areas for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze production data to identify root causes of problems and develop solutions.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production, quality, and safety performance.
  • Provide feedback to management on areas for improvement and recommendations for process optimization.
