About The Position

Granite City Processing (formerly Heidtman Steel) is seeking experienced steel processing professionals to join their 3rd shift team in Granite City, Illinois. This is an opportunity for individuals with hands-on experience in slitter line operation, setups, changeovers, steel processing, coil handling, and operating overhead cranes and forklifts. Requirements

Computer-literate to maintain production documents
Experience driving a forklift
Experience operating an overhead crane
Experience with material handlers
Steel handler experience
Physically demanding job requiring standing, bending, twisting, stooping
Ability to move up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in machine operation
Steel manufacturing experience is preferred for Slitter Opportunities

Responsibilities

Slitter line operation
Slitter setups and changeovers
Steel processing
Coil handling and material movement
Operating overhead cranes
Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
Reading production specifications and following quality requirements
Working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced steel processing environment
Maintaining production documents
Standing, bending, twisting, stooping
Moving up to 50 lbs
