Steel Mill Forge Operator (Glama Driver / Operator)
About The Position
Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc., established in 1994, is headquartered in Bridgeville, PA, with plants in North Jackson, OH, Dunkirk, NY, and Titusville, PA. Universal Stainless produces semi-finished and finished specialty steel long products and plate including stainless steel, tool steel, bearing steel, gear steel, and aircraft quality low alloy steels for use in a variety of industries. This role operates and monitors 4 VAR furnaces, safely loads and unloads furnace using remote overhead crane, documents bar identification and all required information, maintains accurate record keeping of all furnace activity and communicates information to co-workers, monitors chart recorders for cycle adherence to recipe, identifies anomalies in furnace performance and contacts/communicates to Technology, Maintenance, and Supervision, cools bars in manner directed by recipe using remote overhead crane, documents and adheres to designated cycle times, processes material in accordance with recipe, accurately records production data manually and in computerized production recording system, understands data system and is capable of identifying/rectifying erroneous or inconsistent entries/results, and performs welding as needed. All other duties as required.

- Heavy Industrial: 1 year (Required)
- Overhead Crane: 1 year (Required)
- Forklift: 1 year (Required)

Nice To Haves
- Prior steel mill or industrial furnace experience preferred.
- Heavy Equipment Operation / CDL experience a big plus!
Responsibilities

- Safely unloads bars from furnace at end of cycle and cools bars in manner directed by recipe using remote overhead crane.
- Documents and adheres to designated cycle times.
- Processes material in accordance with recipe
- Accurately records production data manually and in computerized production recording system.
- Understands data system and is capable of identifying/rectifying erroneous or inconsistent entries/results.
- Welding as needed.
- All other duties as required.
