About The Position

As we open our new Texas plant, we are seeking a Steel Material Processor to support the preparation and processing of steel materials used in the manufacture of tanks, enclosures, structural components, and power generation equipment. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing manufacturing operation and play a critical role in ensuring quality materials are processed accurately and efficiently for production. Job Summary The Steel Material Processor is responsible for moving, sorting, measuring, cutting, shearing, bending, and processing raw steel materials used throughout the manufacturing process. This position supports production by ensuring materials are prepared safely, accurately, and efficiently while operating a variety of steel processing equipment, including shears, press brakes, and CNC burn tables. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, experience operating manufacturing equipment, and the ability to read blueprints, specifications, and work instructions. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • One to two years of manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, machining, or related industrial experience.
  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and work instructions.
  • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure and measuring devices.
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to solve simple calculations.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and maneuver materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform tasks for extended periods on concrete, metal, and industrial surfaces.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, crouch, climb, and maintain balance while positioning materials for processing operations.
  • Ability to navigate ramps, inclines, uneven surfaces, stairs, and production walkways throughout the facility.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions while measuring, marking, processing, and handling materials.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate machinery, tools, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to read measurements, specifications, computer screens, and production documentation.
  • Ability to safely work around moving machinery, forklifts, and material handling equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating shears, press brakes, CNC burn tables, saws, or material processing equipment.

  • Knowledge of material handling and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

  • Move raw steel materials and processed components throughout the facility.
  • Sort raw materials and burn kits for processing operations.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points according to drawings and specifications.
  • Square and shear material accurately to required dimensions.
  • Square and form material accurately using press brakes and related equipment.
  • Prepare materials for downstream fabrication, welding, and assembly operations.
  • Verify processed materials meet dimensional and quality requirements.
  • Maintain proper identification and organization of processed materials.
  • Set up and operate shears, press brakes, CNC burn tables, and related processing equipment.
  • Calculate and set machine controls such as speed, feed, depth, angle of cut, and other required operating parameters.
  • Monitor machine operations and identify out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Adjust machine controls as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment as trained and authorized.
  • Maintain equipment and workstations in safe operating condition.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Verify dimensions and measurements using tape measures and other measuring devices.
  • Inspect materials throughout the processing operation to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and workmanship.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of potential hazards and surrounding activities.
  • Keep equipment, workstations, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Operate machinery and equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Work safely around forklifts, material handling equipment, and moving machinery.
  • Support safety initiatives and participate in required training activities.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices throughout assigned work areas.
