About The Position

Seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to support structural steel fabrication and ensure completed work meets applicable drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Experienced senior structural steel fitters/fabricators with strong quality experience may also be considered.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in structural steel layout and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication and construction drawings.
• Solid knowledge of structural steel fabrication practices and quality standards.

Nice To Haves

• Welding certification in AWS D1.1 and/or D1.5 preferred.
• Experienced senior structural steel fitters/fabricators with strong quality experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structural steel throughout the fabrication process and at completion.
• Verify materials, dimensions, layout, and part placement against shop drawings and specifications.
• Identify and document nonconforming work in accordance with AWS D1.1/D1.5.
• Perform in-process and final quality inspections.
• Work closely with production personnel to investigate and correct quality issues.
• Support quality improvement activities and process improvements.
• Assist with annual AISC quality control audits.
