About The Position

We are looking for a Quality Inspector with structural steel fabrication experience to inspect materials, welds, and finished components for compliance with specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements. This is a hands-on, shop-floor position in an active, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of structural steel fabrication experience.
Experience in quality control, inspection, or a related manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, and AISC standards.
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
Experience using quality inspection tools, including: Fillet weld gauges, V-WAC gauges, Squares, Tape measures, Other standard inspection equipment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Nice To Haves

Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
Experience with nondestructive testing methods, including: Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT)
Additional certifications related to structural steel fabrication, bolting, coatings, or welding inspection.
Previous experience in steel manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Inspect structural steel components, welds, materials, and coatings for quality and compliance.
Verify work meets AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, AISC, and applicable industry standards.
Inspect incoming materials, parts, and consumables.
Identify and document inspected materials according to established procedures.
Maintain inspection records, quality logs, and related documentation.
Calibrate and maintain welding equipment and inspection tools.
Support welder qualification testing and certification activities.
Assist with training related to welding, fitting, and quality requirements.
Manage drawing control and other quality processes.
Work with production and management to identify and resolve quality issues.
Participate in continuous improvement and company training programs.
Promote safe work practices and support workplace safety initiatives.
