About The Position

Conewago is currently seeking a Steel Estimator. This role is responsible for reviewing the scope of work to ensure projects align with the Fabrication Plant's capabilities. The Steel Estimator will perform accurate take-offs, input data into estimating software, obtain current material pricing, and prepare proposals. This position may also involve direct customer interaction during the bidding process to ensure proposal accuracy. Requirements

  • Review of the scope of work to assure the project is within the capabilities of the Fabrication Plant.
  • Perform accurate take-offs.
  • Imputing data into estimating software.
  • Acquiring current material pricing.
  • Preparing proposals.
  • Work directly with the customer during the bidding process to assure the most accurate proposal is provided.
  • Interpret section details (Structural and Architectural) and apply to appropriate areas.
  • Research and acquire pricing on buy out items.
  • Bid follow up for tracking award and competitiveness.
  • Work with General Manager during contract review.
  • Prepare change orders when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicant will be responsible for review of the scope of work to assure the project is within the capabilities of the Fabrication Plant.
  • Applicant will be required to perform accurate take-offs, imputing data into estimating software, acquiring current material pricing and preparing proposals.
  • The Steel Estimator my also work directly with the customer during the bidding process to assure the most accurate proposal is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Review job specifications and scope of work to assure current capabilities and certifications meet or exceed scope requirements.
  • Complete “Bid Tech Form” in accordance with AISC.
  • Perform accurate take-off.
  • Interpret section details (Structural and Architectural) and apply to appropriate areas.
  • Input data into estimating software.
  • Acquire current material pricing.
  • Research and acquire pricing on buy out items.
  • Work directly with customer to assure the most accurate proposal.
  • Prepare the proposal, qualifications and exceptions.
  • Bid follow up for tracking award and competitiveness.
  • Work with General Manager during contract review.
  • Prepare change orders when needed.
